Again, another variation of Etude 6. For example, I’m using a Bb melodic minor scale in the upper octave of the C7 chord (minor scale formed from the 7th of the dominant chord). This adds altered color tension tone of Db (functions as -9 of C7) and Eb (functions as +9 of C7). Besides learning to hear the scale as harmonic extensions, also pay attention to the triads that are formed in the second octave.
